8 weeks post partum
Greetings!
It has been far too long...but thinking back to everything that has happened, blog writing as been on the very back burner.
Let's time travel back to mid February when I found out that my bundle of joy was estimated at 8 pounds 12 ounces. When the ultrasound tech told me I was surprised but at the same time, I knew I'd have a big baby. I also got scared because I knew the baby could still grow another couple pounds before delivery and grow he did. At the next check up, the ultrasound tech nonchalantly told me that the child inside my belly was estimated at 10 pounds 10 ounces. Yep, that's right. TEN POUNDS. well, over 10 pounds. After hearing this news, I was DEFINITELY scared. I did not in any way shape or form want to push this baby out of my body when he was estimated to be so large. Good thing for me, they have these wonderful things called C-sections!
Okay, but in all seriousness, I knew that I would have a very difficult vaginal delivery if I chose to do so. The opening is only so big, and at over 10 pounds, I knew it would be a tight squeeze. In my mind, I did not want to push and push and push and then have the baby go into distress. I also did not want to push and push and push and then have them tell me that we needed to go in for an emergency c-section because he wasn't coming out. Thankfully, my OB doctor was on the same page and agreed with my decision to have a cesarean delivery.
I will write a new post later about all that happened from this conversation on.
