THE dress!
Yesterday’s trip to David’s Bridal was a success. I said yes to a dress!!!!! And I couldn't be happier about it. I am thrilled that I have my dress, veil, tiara; etc all picked out and paid for.
Me, my MOH and my Ma all met at David’s for my 11:30am appointment. I was happy when we walked in because it didn’t look too busy, and I was excited because I knew I wouldn't have to fight for mirror space in the dressing area. Right away I spotted a dress on a mannequin that I had written on my list to try on, and it looked so so so pretty. Then, we spotted the bridesmaid dress that we were interested in so we took a look at that. Anyways, I gave my list to the consultant (the same woman as last time, which was good cause I already knew her and knew she was nice and easy to work with) and she started pulling the dresses I had written down. I had 5 on my list, but throughout the appointment I tried on close to 10!!!!! haha!
I had one favorite that I was really excited to try on so I 'worked up' to that one and tried on 2 before I tried that one on, I liked the first two, they were nice, and one was definitely a contender. Then, my favorite from the list I really liked but I wasn't sure but there was something about it that was maybe 'too much' or didn’t go with the look I was envisioning. Anyways, then the consultant pulled a dress that was similar to my fave just so I could see the fit on my cause my fave I had to try on in a size up because they didn’t have my exact size. Well, I put on this dress that she pulled solely to see the fit and I reallllllly liked it. Then, she pulled a veil that I instantly fell in love with. ((I don’t wanna give too many details cause the fiancé reads this and I don’t wanna give it all away to him. haha!)) So I said: whatever dress I pick, it HAS to work with this veil. So anywho...I put the first contender back on and decided I didn’t love it, and then I put the second contender back on (I think) and decided it was too much sparkle and so I put this other dress back on and I decided it was THE ONE!!!!! It was so crazy because this dress was nothing I even wanted to try on, nothing I had even looked at or written down, nothing I even really looked twice at. But when I had it on, and it was pair with the veil I just LOVED the whole look of it all. AND, I could picture myself on my wedding day wearing that dress. I couldn’t picture myself next to my fiancé on our wedding day in the dress and it just felt like that dress went with everything I was going for. I think it was one of those things where when you see it, you know it. When I saw this dress on me, and all put together, I knew it was the right one. I felt like a bride in it, and it is a timeless style where I wont look back and think "what was I thinking picking that?!".....and it isn’t something that you will be able to tell is from last year collection or whatever. Like, the whole thing is just perfect.
I wasn't pressuring myself to pick something yesterday but it all fell into place and it just happened. And, it was by chance that this dress happened to get pulled for me to try on. It is a dress that I never would have pegged as what I was going for but I love love love it and I cant wait til it comes in and I put on MY actual dress for the first time and I see the whole look together <3
