third day & goin' strong...
So I am still uber excited about blogging, I think about it sometimes at random points of the day when I probably should be concentrating on my job but instead I am thinking about what I will write about once I get to my blog. ((hehe))
I still haven't packed yet, but that's okay I can do it later, I feel like writing right now. So, today I figured I would get you up to date and tell you about how my planning process has worked so far. I have to catch you up on 6 months worth of wedding things! But I might just stick to talking about picking a date...
Our engagement day was December 22nd, so naturally we were ecstatic and on top of that it was Christmas time, we were spending the holiday with my family. We were focused on spending time with family and announcing the news to the people close to us, but the very first thing we talked about was what time of year we wanted our wedding to be and what year we would get married. We knew right away that we wanted a Spring wedding, and we decided that this spring (spring 2011) would be way too soon to plan a wedding and that it would be perfect to have a wedding in the spring of 2012. (we also thought that spring 2013 would just be way too long to wait)...So there we had it, Spring 2012! Now, spring has a few months in it...which month should we choose? Our next step was to look at the 2012 calendar and see which date would work best for us. We decided on May 12, 2012. My first love of this date is that when you say it in numbers: "five-twelve-twelve" it has a nice ring to it! 5-12-12....I just love it! Also, it will be easy to remember, not that we will ever forget but you know, sometimes there is a lot on the ole brain. haha! This weekend also happens to be Mothers Day weekend.... which I am not thrilled about but whatever.
5-12-12, now we had a timeline for ourselves! we knew that we had about a year and a half, which to me is more than enough time for us to plan the wedding of our dreams. I was confident that we made the right decision for us and I was so happy to have a date!
I think I'll pause there for now, and I will try super hard to blog from the road. We are headed to Philly tomorrow evening, so I will do what I can to blog the next few days while we're away! :)
