I'm A Mom.
Recently, while visiting my family in my hometown, we went out to dinner and we saw a woman who has watched me grow up, someone who has know us for a long time.
She asked me how I was liking being a Mom and I said I love it and it's going really well.
What she said next really stuck with me and made my heart burst with happiness.
She said: "That's great. You were made for it!" and I thought, wow. other people see in me what I have seen in myself for years now. She was right. I was made for this and that is how I have felt for so long and she validated that.
I love that she said that and it made me so happy!
I remember in 5th grade we wrote letters to our future selves about what our hopes and dreams were for our futures. Once we graduated high school, our teacher from 5th grade sent us our letters. I remember getting mine in the mail and reading it...in 5th grade I wrote in my letter how I hoped to be a mom one day.
I knew I wanted to be a mother before I even knew what being a mother really meant. I used to daydream about being a mom and now that dream is a reality and it brings me more joy than i can even describe.
I love being Mama but I love being Mama to my baby boy the most. I love that I held him in my body, grew him, and birthed him. I brought him into this world and he is a product of my husband and I. It truly is amazing if you think about it. He came to be because of us. My body was able to carry him and that is the best gift.
I've always said that God's Plan is amazing and he has big plans for us. He gave us the greatest gift and I am forever thankful.
